5 Things God Never Said Part 2 “If you want to be saved, just invite Jesus into your heart.” Part 1 Review. “If you don’t know the date you were saved, then you are not saved.” Who are you trusting right now? Sometimes we don’t “feel” saved, but remember our assurance is based on facts, not feelings. We can be sure of our faith because we have the internal witness of the Holy Spirit and the external testimony of a changing and transformed life. PART 2: “If You Want To Be Saved, Invite Jesus Into Your Heart.” Revelation 3 v20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” In Revelation 3, Jesus Is Speaking To The Church. Lukewarm Laodicea! (Revelation 3 v14-22, Hebrews 12 v5,6) REV 3 v19 AMP “Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will].” Why Is This Passage Inappropriate To Use In Evangelism? Jesus is not outside the lost world, knocking to come in – they are outside of His Kingdom! (Romans 1 v18-31, Ephesians 2 v11-13) The call to the lost, again and again, in scripture is “repent and be saved!” (Acts 2 v38-40) The biblical concept of salvation is that, by grace, a person who believes and confesses Jesus Christ as saviour is accepted into the kingdom and family of God. (Romans 10 v8-13) We do not accept Him, He accepts us. (Ephesians 2 v1-10) John: The Gospel Of Belief Jn 20:31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John’s Gospel reminds us to BELIEVE – 98 times! Believe = Trust Jesus as savior. The testimony of Jesus Christ exists to challenge lost people to believe. Compel them, plead with them, shine on them so they will BELIEVE. (Hebrews 11 v6) Just Believe…And Tell Someone! (Romans 10 v9,10)
