In Our World, Hope Is A Big Deal!
“Everything that is done in the world is done by hope.” -Martin Luther
Hope Is A Big Deal In The Kingdom Of Heaven!
Hope is bigger than hoping for Heaven when you die, and that is no small hope! Jesus offers us hope—a promise of the coming light to conquer the darkness. (Mark 13)
We are to live with a sense of expectancy and readiness, knowing that Heaven’s Gift will be revealed in all its glory at any moment.
How Do We Grow Our Hope?
- Hope Grows When We Remember God’s Promises.
(Isaiah 49 v13-16; Acts 2 v36)
God’s Word can give us God’s perspective, even when times are dark.
The Bible contains over 7000 promises from God for his people.
Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies (promises)!
- Hope Grows When You Make Hope A Habit
“There are no hopeless situations, there are only people who have grown hopeless about them.”
Hope is open rebellion against the kingdom of darkness.
During this Advent season, be a rebel.
Through PRAYER, let us pour out our hearts before God, expressing our hopes and burdens, while listening for His voice. (Psalm 25 v1, 4-5)
Give yourself PERMISSION to be hopeful. (Isaiah 12 v2)
We can CHOOSE to be hopeful, in spite of the weather. (Job 13v 15)
We can be THANKFUL – that reminds us of God’s promises. (Psalm 138 v1-2)
We can be COURAGEOUS and make goals and plans, because we have hope. (Proverbs 16 v3)
- Hope Grows When You Give It Away
“Kindness is giving hope to those who think they are all alone in this world.”
Suffering is a profoundly lonely experience.
Who are the lonely people in your neighbourhood?
(Matthew 5 v14-16, 1 Peter 3v15)
As we eagerly anticipate the fulfillment of Heaven’s Gift, may our hearts be filled with hope that transcends our circumstances and brings light into the darkest corners of our world.
