Hostile Part 4: Nehemiah – The Hidden Key To Leverage

One of the most challenging things in life is to get people or things to do what you want them to do. Even God has had his frustrations with getting humans to listen to Him. Jesus experienced discouragement and sadness over the resistance of people to receive His love and direction. (Luke 19 v41-44) Even if situations seem broken beyond repair, no situation is broken beyond the power of prayer! You Can Make A Change, Because That’s What Nehemiah Did. (Nehemiah Chapters 1-6) How was Nehemiah able to overcome and thrive in such a hostile environment? Nehemiah Prayed, Then He Acted. All the time, every time. Scripture records 10 instances that Nehemiah prayed before he acted. One of the most important things you can do in “hostile lands” is to quiet yourself before the Lord and ask for his strength and favor before you step into life’s challenges. Nehemiah could not have accomplished the things he did without being a man of prayer. You won’t accomplish all that God has for you to do without being a person of prayer. Do You Pray Without Ceasing? (1 Thessalonians 5 v17) Some of us struggle day in and day out in a hostile wasteland, not because of conditions, but because of our condition – to be prayer-less is to be powerless. Sometimes we step into situations propelled by worry, hurry or fury. God’s children should be propelled by prayer. (Romans 8 v26-27) “A man who is intimate with God is not intimidated by man… To be much FOR God, we must be much WITH God.” – Leonard Ravenhill Nehemiah prayed as if everything depended on God, and he worked as if everything depended on him.
