l Love the Church… but I don’t like church? I want to see a revolution in how we gather, and what happens when we gather. …even dedicated, involved people can get “done with church”. Why do we “get done” with church? 1. Your identity becomes tied to what you do, not who you are. You’re a child of God, redeemed by a Savior who came for YOU. Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 2. You’ve seen how the sausage is made, and have lost your appetite. Jesus never said we would be known for our perfection, but by our love. John 13:34,35, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. 3. Somewhere in the process, your personal walk with God tanked. 1Co 11:1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” Before you say goodbye… please don’t be done… yet. YOU are the church. The church is so much stronger when we are together, not when we are apart. Eph. 2:22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Many of us who are done can be “undone” if we can get back down to WHY we are here.2Ti 2:8,9 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. One Decision… (See: Eph. 2:13,19-22.) Keep working through your reasons to be done. Maybe the thing that is hardest for you to say, is exactly what needs to be said. Maybe the thing that is hardest for you to do, is exactly the thing that needs to happen. Imagine what we can do together as we follow Christ and allow him to build us into a dwelling full of His Spirit. Discussion Questions Have you ever quit a job before? Why did you quit?
