God’s Word, and God’s World, Both Include Rest.
GEN 2:3. God “rested from all His work”.
Mark 2:27 “Then Jesus said to them, ‘The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath’”
Why Rest?
Rest is worship. (GEN 2:2, Mark 6:31, PS 46:10)
Rest is an act of trust and obedience. (MAT 11:28)
Rest keeps you sharp. (ECC4:6)
What Are You Supposed To Do On Your Sabbath?
-Resist counterfeit rest. Our world is full of fake rest.
-Rest your body. Discover the lost art of naps!
-Refocus your spirit. Ministry leaders need additional rest outside of Sunday.
-Recharge your emotions.
If you work with your hands, rest with your brain.
If you work with your brain, rest with your hands.
No Excuses! You Need Rest!
-God commands it!
-It helps you give God your best.
Imagine what would happen if you and I were a little more rested!

-Why do you think God encourages and commands rest in scripture?
-How might saying “no” be an act of worship, and how can you receive God’s help to do that?
